That's a really helpful list of books. I can across Elaine Aron's work last year which opened my eyes, but it wasn't until I read Thrill by Tracy M. Copper this year that for the first time everything started to make sense for me. I also read his book Thrive which made me feel I've been on the right track. I'm looking forward to reading The Highly Sensitive Man, these books are game changers!

Matt, thanks for sharing how much these books have helped you. It's wonderful how these authors can put together different pieces of the puzzle for us to understand ourselves. So many lightbulb moments! Tom Falkenstein has done a magnificent job with The Highly Sensitive Man so I highly recommend.

I totally agree! On your recommendation I got myself the audiobook version of the Highly Sensitive Man, I particularly find the case studies interesting and yes lots of lightbulb moments! I never really got a handle on the concept of 'over stimulation' but it's starting to make sense. I have to say having the highly contradictory 'sensation seeker' trait makes it all the more difficult to understand the broader picture.

Completely agree. Having this understanding the High Sensation Seeker (HSS) trait alongside the Highly Sensitive Person (HSP) trait is a game changer for so many, myself included! Knowledge is so empowering and helps us on the path of self acceptance.

I feel much happier in my skin now that I understand these two traits now I can play to my strengths. Its nice to know you also have these two aspects to your personality. Yes knowledge is empowering!
