New Podcast Episode: Embodied Practices for Highly Sensitive People
I joined Jules, Josh and Alan for a heartfelt conversation on healing, embodiment and empowerment for HSPs
Welcome to my weekly newsletter building a supportive community for Highly Sensitive People (HSPs).

I'm excited to share that I recently joined a powerful panel discussion on the Highly Sensitive Human Podcast, hosted by the insightful transpersonal coach and trainer Jules De Vitto. Together with systemic coach and breathwork facilitator Alan Piatek and ecstatic dance facilitator Josh Silver, we explored the world of Highly Sensitive Persons (HSPs)—and how embodied practices can become a pathway to healing, presence, and empowerment. You can listen here.
If you identify as highly sensitive or support someone who does, this episode is full of compassionate insight, grounded practices, and supportive reflections you won’t want to miss.
What we cover in this episode:
Breathwork for regulation
Discover how simple breathing techniques can calm an overwhelmed nervous system and restore balance.Dance as a metaphor for life
Learn how conscious movement helps HSPs connect to their inner wisdom, set boundaries, and feel more grounded in social spaces.Singing and self-expression
I share how singing can bypass overthinking and help sensitive individuals find their voice—literally and metaphorically.Retreats designed for HSPs
We talk about our upcoming retreat in Devon, intentionally created for sensitive nervous systems. Relaxing, supportive, and connection with likeminded others.Everyday embodiment practices
From barefoot grounding to gentle shaking and conscious slowing down, we offer simple tools to return to your body and the present moment.
This conversation is close to my heart, and I believe it will resonate with many of you—whether you're exploring your sensitivity, seeking community, or curious about how embodiment can support your wellbeing.
Quote from the episode: Why Coming Back to the Body Matters for HSPs:
“I'm so glad we're talking about embodied practices because it's so important. It's essential for highly sensitive people. We all know that as HSPs we process our emotions very deeply, we think very deeply, we process sensory input deeply, and as a result we can become easily overstimulated. And while the depth that we have as HSPs is absolutely beautiful, it can mean we're very prone to overthinking and getting into our heads and ruminating.
And when we're in our heads, we're actually very cut off from our bodies —we're not in the present moment and it's pulling us away from what's here, right now. So embodiment and the importance of us learning to do this is about coming back to ourselves, coming home to ourselves, and helping us to find regulation. Because when we can come back into our bodies and reconnect with our body sensations and feel safe in our bodies, rather than shutting down all our sensitivities and just reacting to everything, we can really nurture and support our sensitivity.” (Dr Genevieve on The Highly Sensitive Humans Podcast, April 2025)
I hope you find the podcast a nourishing and inspiring listen.
