It has taken years of healing to do be able to feel confident enough to speak on camera in a podcast studio, so I’m proud to share this conversation with you, out today. I joined Josh Connolly for his Dysfunctional podcast to talk about high sensitivity—what it really means, why it matters, and why it’s so often misunderstood. What I really appreciate about Josh is how real he is and straight to the point — which is very refreshing. Josh identifies as a highly sensitive person (HSP) himself and is, I believe, a powerful role model for highly sensitive men. He admits he doesn’t fit the stereotypical image people might have of sensitivity, and that’s exactly why his voice is so needed.
We began by talking about how the term “high sensitivity” can feel like it’s disappearing from mainstream conversations and how I came to discover it myself.
From there, we went on to cover a range of topics including:

I'm so grateful to have had this conversation with Josh and even more grateful for the way he’s raising awareness and empowering sensitive people everywhere, especially children.
My biggest hope is that this episode brings more understanding, validation, and empowerment to those who need it most.

Great conversation - very moving too
As I’ve said before, I love this work and love to hear you sharing it with others, Genevieve. I can imagine many people resonated with this conversation. I know for myself, in social situations, I often struggle with people saying one thing, but I feel something different than what’s being said. My journey has been a lot around understanding how to respond in those moments in a way that feels authentic to me and to what’s actually present, but without blowing the other person out of the water, which I can sometimes do when I lose my elegance and finesse! lol
